Weddings and Events

Our stunning regenerative organic farm venue is the perfect option for those who value organic local food, sustainability, and ecological agriculture. We have been fortunate to add this picturesque venue to our 4th generation farm. All of the land farmed by our family sits against a mountain backdrop with just enough privacy and seclusion, yet it is still only 5 minutes from Armstrong and any town necessities you may have neglected to bring along. We offer accommodation in our large and thoughtfully renovated gambrel roofed Arts + Crafts style home. You will also find carefully appointed outbuildings for your use and setup - these could serve as break out spaces during planning sessions or as a bridal suite. We have multiple ceremony locations available overlooking the foothills of the Monashees, grassy organic pastures, and groves of cedars and cottonwoods. Settle in for the evening on our park-like large reception patio bordered with wrought iron fence and colourful pollinator plants. Spend time in this timeless space, whatever the occasion.

What Makes This Space so Special:

Experience comfort and nature in a beautiful rural setting on a regenerative organic livestock farm. Perfect for a family reunion, a wedding or event, or a focused strategic planning session, the property is dynamic in its potential uses. This Arts and Crafts style home offers a unique combination of a farm experience and polished perfection with dining and sleeping space for over a dozen adults, plus two attached nurseries to accommodate children.

Be a Part of Our Regenerative Farm Story

Tour the farm with the new generation of farmers, and get an idea of how regenerative agriculture happens on the landscape. Pick up some local culinary delights and prepare them (or have them prepared for you!) in the chef-ready kitchen. We hope to host more farming, food, and agriculture workshops in this space and we hope you will come once and then come again to learn.

Four-Season Activities to Suit Your Fancy

In the summer months play frisbee on the expansive lawn, and enjoy the pool on the hotter days. You could also sit and enjoy a book on the covered porch, in one of the large living rooms, or in the study on the main floor. Take the family skiing at SilverStar and then cozy up for fireside board games. Bring your snow shoes or cross country skis and use the snow right out your backdoor! In the more moderate season Mountain View Rd is a popular destination for road cyclists, and the rail trail is under construction from Sicamous to Armstrong - soon to provide an alternative means to get into town!

Join our citizen science nature project in iNaturalist to add your nature observations from on and around the farm during your stay. We are a registered Land Steward with the Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society and your observations help us to track how our local biodiversity is faring. While this farming property has a history of agriculture going back over a century, the farmers tending this land now have an emphasis on ecological management. Together with a dedicated farm crew this generation of farmers is working to ensure responsible agrarians can farm the land for generations to come - all while providing important habitat to species that call the area home.

For outdoor enjoyment there is a beautiful in-ground pool, a cement pad for basketball or skating or dining! and expansive lawn and garden for relaxing and enjoying the space. This is an area rich with wildlife, with views and trails to explore - including one to a waterfall and lookout that is directly accessible from the house.

Birdwatching can take place from the windows of home, or you can take a short walk to see what you will find. Nearby are many local amenities to visit while you are in the area including the galleries of renowned artists, internationally celebrated theatre, excellent food and drink, and a number of year-round farmers' markets as well as dozens of lakes within a short drive.

For the Architectural Aficionados

This historic home was originally built in 1914 and was renovated by a masterful carpenter in the early 2000s. Built by Francis Poole and apparently modelled after his home in England, the house features original bottle-glass windows said to have been imported from Lancashire. The stone fireplace was built with rock from nearby Rose Swanson Mountain, and during a more recent renovation bricks from the former Armstrong Hospital were used to build the chimney in the basement suite.

Special Features and Comforts

Each bed is made with 100% cotton sheets and cotton or linen duvet covers. In addition to the one king bed, three queen beds, and one double bed - each in their own bedroom - there is also a nursery off of the master bedroom with a crib and a twin bed, as well as a toddler bed off of the West View bedroom. If you have more than can be accommodated in the bedrooms we have a trundle daybed in the basement rec room that can be turned into two more single beds.

The blue room features a fun little nook, a perfect reading spot for children, or the adventurous adult, and the rec room, downstairs, has built-in features to allow the younger visitors to have a kingdom all their own.

The solid dining room table seats ten and there is a movable dining table that can be added to it to seat a total of 18 comfortably, and with two full fridges, and two ovens at your disposal you have the space and amenities you need to cook for a crowd. There are four full bathrooms in this home; two are en suites and two are common. Each bathroom has a bath tub and a shower, with a beautiful clawfoot tub in the upstairs common bathroom, and a jacuzzi tub in the en suite to the master bedroom. Find unscented laundry detergent in the laundry room, as well as natural soaps and shampoos in each bathroom.

If you need to get a bit of work done during your stay there is a bright study on the main floor with views of the garden, and wifi is accessible throughout the house.

With a vacation spot like this you might not want to venture too far, but if you do you will find more of the beauty in this food-producing region. Come and visit and stay, replenish and rejuvenate on the farm.

Generative Spaces

We see the value in this being a place set aside, where ideas can converge, and knowledge can be shared. If you are looking for a setting for an organizational or corporate retreat whether for business or pleasure, this space provides a variety of meeting-ready spaces both indoors and out.
