Nature Delivered is Fresh Valley Farms’ home delivery partner for Vernon and a key part of the local food ecosystem in the North Okanagan and Shuswap. Nature Delivered exists for one clear reason: to make it easier for people to eat local food year-round while supporting the farmers who grow it.
Connecting eaters and farmers
Nature Delivered was founded by Emily Jubenvill and Owen Madden in the winter of 2023, a time when eating local food can feel hardest. Gardens are dormant, farmers’ markets slow down, and many CSAs pause for the season. Rather than accept that gap, Emily and Owen built a system to keep local food flowing even when it takes extra coordination and care.
Their approach is simple and transparent. Food comes from real farms, with real people behind it. As their platform grows, customers can see exactly who grew each item they order. When food must be sourced from outside the immediate region, that is clearly communicated. Local always comes first.
Rooted in Shuswap Organics
Nature Delivered grew out of Emily and Owen’s own farm, Shuswap Organics, located beside the Shuswap River in the North Okanagan. Their farm specializes in certified organic winter storage crops such as carrots and beets, along with seasonal greens, herbs, seedlings, and mixed vegetables. That firsthand experience as growers shapes how Nature Delivered operates. They understand harvest timing, storage realities, and the economics farmers face.
Because no single farm can supply everything year-round, Nature Delivered aggregates produce from multiple certified organic farms across the North Okanagan and Shuswap. In deep winter and early spring, they may also work with growers in the Lower Mainland and beyond, always with clear labeling so customers know where their food comes from.
Built for winter and beyond
Starting a local food business in winter was a deliberate choice. Nature Delivered fills the seasonal gap between harvest abundance and early spring scarcity. By learning what customers want in winter, they can work with regional growers to plan future crops, strengthening local food security over time.
This model benefits everyone. Customers get better access to fresh food. Farmers gain a reliable off-season outlet. The regional food system becomes more resilient.

About the founders
Emily Jubenvill’s path to farming began with a love of preserved food and deepened through studying environmental science and years of hands-on growing. Her work reflects patience, practicality, and a long view of food systems.
Owen Madden brings a background in law, climate policy, and environmental advocacy. His shift from legal work to farming and food distribution reflects a belief that building resilient local systems is one of the most meaningful ways to address environmental challenges.
Together, Emily and Owen have created a delivery service that feels personal, transparent, and grounded in place.
