Jerseyland Organics is British Columbia’s longest-standing certified organic dairy, with roots that go back more than three decades. Based in Grand Forks, this family-owned and operated farm has been producing organic dairy since 1994, long before organic food became mainstream in Canada. Their work helped set the standard for organic dairy production in the province.
Jersey Cows
At the heart of Jerseyland is a herd of Jersey cows, often called the classic family cow. Jerseys are known for their rich, golden milk, naturally higher in butterfat and protein. Jerseyland’s cows are raised on the farm, come from strong family lines, and are not confined. They have access to the outdoors year-round and are rotated onto pasture during the summer months. This approach supports healthier animals, longer lifespans, and milk with exceptional flavour and structure.
Minimally processed
Jerseyland makes all of their dairy products on the farm using their own organic milk. Their yogurt is non-homogenized, with the cream rising naturally to the top, and contains no thickeners or emulsifiers. Live active cultures give it a clean, gently tangy flavour and excellent texture. Their cheeses are artisan-made from raw milk and naturally aged, without preservatives or artificial colouring, which is why they have such depth and character.
Responsible farming
Environmental stewardship and animal welfare are core to how Jerseyland operates. Organic certification guides everything from feed and pasture management to processing practices. The result is dairy that reflects care at every step, from soil to cow to finished product.
