Organic certification helps buyers trust the word “organic.”
About North Okanagan Organic Association (NOOA)
North Okanagan Organic Association (NOOA) certifies organic growers and processors across British Columbia. NOOA has done this work since 1989. NOOA is a member-run, not-for-profit society. Farmers help guide the organization and support each other through the certification process.
What NOOA does
NOOA supports small to medium scale farms and processors with organic certification. They highlight a simple application process, peer review by farmers, mentoring, seminars, and farm tours. NOOA is an accredited certifying body for the British Columbia Certified Organic Program.
Since September 2018, food and beverage products marketed as organic within British Columbia require organic certification. This rule helps protect the term “organic” for both farmers and shoppers.
Fresh Valley Farms
Fresh Valley Farms values clear standards, healthy soil, and strong local food systems. We partner with NOOA and with Organic BC because consistent, third-party organic certification supports trust, fair markets, and long-term stewardship.
Fresh Valley Farms’ co-owner Annelise Grube-Cavers is the Chair of the Board of Directors (2026) of the North Okanagan Organic Association (NOOA).
