Fresh Valley Farms is a fourth-generation regenerative organic farm in Armstrong, BC. We steward over 360 acres of pasture and forest and raise cattle, pigs, chickens, and turkeys using careful rotational grazing practices.
Our farm is BC Certified Organic through the North Okanagan Organic Association, and we direct market all of our meats, eggs, and value-added products through our online store.
We are a small, committed team working to strengthen the local food system, improve soil health, raise livestock with care, and help shape policy that supports resilient, region-wide food security.
Working at Fresh Valley Farms
Fresh Valley Farms is located minutes from Armstrong in the North Okanagan. Vernon is about 20 minutes away, and Salmon Arm is 30 minutes away. While on-farm accommodation is not available, we are open to helping the right candidate secure local housing.
We value people who are excited about regenerative agriculture, open to learning new skills, and eager to participate in the daily rhythm of a working livestock farm. Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is inspired by regenerative farming and interested in both traditional skills and modern on-farm technologies. The ideal candidate enjoys animal husbandry, problem-solving, and hands-on work.
Helpful qualities include:
- Good work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
- Valid driver’s license
- Interest in environmental stewardship and innovative agricultural practices
Job Tasks
Roles include a wide range of daily and seasonal responsibilities, such as:
- Feeding and moving cattle, pigs, and poultry
- Frequent moves of electric fencing for rotational grazing
- Monitoring livestock for health and wellbeing
- Catching, sorting, and loading animals for slaughter
- Building and maintaining farm structures and fencing
- Implementing and monitoring new technologies used on the farm
- Assisting with slaughter, butchery, and meat packaging
Our typical positions are physical, hands-on, and rewarding for someone who likes working outdoors and contributing directly to regenerative food production.
