We just added something new to the Fresh Valley Farms fleet = our new all-electric delivery van is officially on the road.
This van will be used to deliver customer orders to pickup locations across the Okanagan, Shuswap, Thompson, and Kootenay regions. It replaces a fossil-fuel delivery vehicle and marks a meaningful step forward in how we move food from our farm to your table.
What makes this especially exciting is where the energy comes from. The van is powered in large part by the new solar array installed here on the farm. That means many orders now travel using electricity generated on the same land where the animals are raised and the food is packed. Fewer emissions. Fewer external inputs. More resilience built into the system.
Delivery is a big part of farm life. Weekly routes add up fast. Switching to an electric vehicle reduces fuel use, lowers operating costs over time, and aligns with the long-term thinking behind regenerative agriculture. This is not about being flashy. It is about choosing tools that fit the values of the farm.
For customers, the experience stays the same. Orders are packed with care and arrive at the same pickup points on schedule. Behind the scenes, though, the footprint of those deliveries is lighter than it was before.
We are proud of this milestone and grateful to our community for supporting a farm that keeps investing in better systems. Every order helps move projects like this forward.
