Annelise Speaking at Young Agrarians 2026 BC MIxer
Last weekend, Annelise spoke at the Young Agrarians snpintktn, Penticton, BC Mixer, a two-day (un)conference-style gathering focused on farmer connection, skills, and support. The event ran February 28 to March 1 at Okanagan College’s Penticton campus, with the weekend theme, “Resilience in Relationships.” Annelise joined the “Failing forward & sharing lessons learned” session, a panel built to make farming more honest. Instead of only sharing wins, the panel made room for the hard parts: what didn’t work, what it cost (time, money, energy), and what they would do differently next time. In her talk, Annelise shared practical lessons from…

Next weekend, we’re packing the van and heading to Nelson for the Basin Food Festival. Mothers Day 2021
There are many silly turkeys in this picture, but only one silly turkey who makes Annelise such a proud mom! Happy Mothers Day to all of the wonderful mothers in our lives, who help to nourish and care for us all, often doing the majority of the lowest paid or least recognized work (ie the housework). We had a beautiful mothers day showing our gratitude to our moms (and, in Annelise’s case, also receiving gratitude herself). Starting the week off feeling excited for all that the coming seasons may bring!

Long Table Dinner 2019
Dirt to Mouth: a night we won’t forget Thank you. To everyone who joined us for our first Dirt to Mouth farm-to-table dinner, thank you for saying yes to something a little different. What unfolded that evening was more than a meal. It was a shared experience, rooted in land, food, and community. As the light softened over the fields and the long table filled, the farm felt alive in a new way. Plates moved down the line. Conversations stretched. Laughter carried across the pasture. Every dish told a story, from familiar favourites to nose-to-tail cuts that invited curiosity and…
