Next weekend, we’re packing the van and heading to Nelson for the Basin Food Festival. We’ll be set up at the public market at Selkirk College’s Tenth Street Campus on Saturday with a van load full of Fresh Valley Farms goodness, and we’re really looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones.
If you already know what you want, we strongly encourage pre-ordering. Market selection is always limited, and pre-orders are the best way to make sure you get the cuts and quantities you’re after. We’ll pack your order in advance and have it ready for quick pickup at the market.
We’ll be bringing a solid lineup of our certified organic, pasture-raised food. That includes grass-fed, grass-finished beef, pasture-raised chicken, and certified organic pastured pork. We’ll also have a small number of free-range eggs available, but those are preorder only and tend to go quickly.
The Basin Food Festival is one of our favourite chances to connect in person. It brings together farmers, producers, cooks, and eaters from across the region, all in one place. If you’re curious about how our animals are raised, how to cook specific cuts, or how ordering and pickups work, this is a great time to ask.
