Affixed to our fridge in a place of great honour! Our first Certified Organic certificate from the North Okanagan Organic Association.
We’re stoked to officially be a part of the growing community of organic farms in our area.
What our Certified Organic status means
Fresh Valley Farms is a Certified Organic farm under the North Okanagan Organic Association.
That means an independent, third-party certifier has inspected our land, animals, and records and confirmed that we meet Canada’s national organic standards.
Our certification covers 280 acres of the farm, including:
- Pastures and hay land
- Tree fruit and berries
- Garlic
- Livestock, including cattle, poultry, and pigs
What organic certification requires
Organic certification is not a label we make ourselves. It is a regulated system with clear rules and yearly inspections.
For our farm, certification means:
- No synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides on our land
- No genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
- Animals raised with access to pasture and outdoor space
- Organic management of soil, crops, and livestock
- Detailed record-keeping and annual inspections
These standards protect soil life, water, ecosystems, animals, and the people who eat the food.
Certified Organic is the foundation that allows us to practice regenerative agriculture responsibly and transparently.
