If you have been looking for eggs, this is a good moment. The hens at Fresh Valley Farms are laying steadily, and we are producing lots of organic eggs right now.
Long days make a difference. Early summer brings more daylight, warm temperatures, and abundant forage. That combination supports consistent laying and strong shell quality. Our flock is right in its stride.
Our laying hens live outdoors on pasture and are moved regularly onto fresh ground. They spend their days scratching, foraging, dust bathing, and resting in shaded areas. Fresh pasture and clean housing support bird health, which shows up directly in egg quality.
Egg production always follows a seasonal rhythm. Spring and early summer are peak laying periods. Hens naturally slow down later in the year as daylight drops and weather shifts. Right now, conditions are ideal, and the birds are responding.
We collect eggs daily and handle them carefully from coop to cooler. Eggs are washed and packed on the farm so they stay fresh and clean. What you get reflects what the hens are eating and how they are living.
Pasture-raised eggs often have rich yolk color and firm whites. That comes from diverse forage, insects, and a balanced diet rather than confinement and artificial lighting. It is a simple system that relies on good land and attentive care.
If eggs have been hard to find or inconsistent earlier in the year, this is the window to stock up. Availability is strong right now, but like everything we do, it follows the season.
Thanks for supporting local food and the farmers who produce it.
