Annelise and Steve at Fresh Valley by new Solar Panels

Moving the farm toward renewable energy

Farming depends on energy. We believe it should depend less on fossil fuels.

At Fresh Valley Farms, we are steadily moving our operation toward renewable energy wherever it makes practical sense. This is not about perfection. It is about making thoughtful, long-term choices that reduce emissions, protect our land, and support a healthier food system.

One of the most visible steps we have taken is switching to an electric delivery vehicle powered by solar energy. Our solar panels generate the electricity used to charge our delivery van, allowing us to move food from farm to community with dramatically lower emissions. When your order arrives, it has already traveled a shorter, cleaner path.

This transition fits naturally with how we farm. Regenerative agriculture is about working with natural systems rather than against them. Reducing fuel use, investing in renewable power, and designing systems that rely less on outside inputs are all part of the same mindset. Healthy soil stores carbon. Pasture-based livestock cycles nutrients. Renewable energy helps close the loop.

We are realistic about the challenges. Farming requires flexibility, and not every task can run on electricity yet. But each upgrade moves us closer to a resilient, future-ready farm that can keep producing food for generations.

Our customers often tell us that these choices matter to them. We appreciate that trust. When you support Fresh Valley Farms, you are supporting a farm that is actively investing in cleaner energy, local food, and long-term stewardship of the land.

This is ongoing work. As farming technology improves and opportunities grow, we will keep taking practical steps toward a lower-impact farm.
